Cllr Daniel Crewe, Conservative councillor for Humberstone and Hamilton, said the money to create street art in Southgates Underpass, off Vaughan Way, would have been better spent on providing children with somewhere to hang out. A city councillor has criticised spending £25,000 on making over one of Leicester's most used underpasses, saying the cash would have been much better spent elsewhere.
